Hans Rasches lifework is destroyed – His small business company is facing
insolvency. Escaping from World and Reality he takes off for his hunting hut. At this
arrival he is surprised to meet his son Felix, who challenges him as a father.

Synopsis

Small business man Hans Rasche, 58, takes off from the world. As his company
becomes a victim of the economic crisis, his old hunting-hut appears as a last refuge.
But instead of finding silence and isolation, which he is seeking, he runs into his son
Felix and his girlfriend. The relationship between father and son, who did not see
each other for a long time, seems visibly tense. While Hans wants to be alone, Felix
is seeking for attention and acceptance.
The forests of east germany constitute a confusing and yet claustrophobic setting for
an intimate play that reveals the desperation of a man whose life’s work and selfesteem is broken and who´s is nothing but looking for a way to end his life. Next to
the father we get to know his son who constantly tries to follow his father´s
footsteps and who is longing for his acceptance. Will Felix see through his fathers
façade soon enough to be able to save him?

Wenn man zum Beispiel Walter Plathe nun in Jagdgründe sieht, denn so hat man ihn noch nie gesehen wie in dem Film des Studenten Jonas Rothlaender.
Plathe ist vor allem bekannt geworden als Der Landarzt im öffentlich-rechtlichen Heile-Welt-Fernsehen. In Jagdgründe ist er der Unternehmer Hans Rasche und geht tief in den schönen deutschen Wald, um sich umzubringen, denn seine Gummiwerke in Brandenburg sind pleite. TV-Landarzt Plathe spielt in Jagdgründe einen Mann, der wie betäubt ist vor Entschlossenheit und Angst, eine massige Gestalt mit der Flinte auf der Schulter, dem Revolver in der Tasche.

Walther Plathe hat man als schönsten Co-Piloten der Interflug aus der Serie „Treffpunkt Flughafen“ in Erinnerung, später dann war er der ewige ZDF-„Landarzt“. Wie in diesem Studentenfilm hat man ihn wohl noch nie gesehen (…). Der einstige Beau beweist Mut zur Hässlichkeit und spielt einen abgewirtschafteten Menschen. Hier ist jemand fix und fertig mit der Welt. Wie Plathe erst mit dem Leben abschließt, um sich ihm dann wieder zuzuwenden, bleibt in Erinnerung. Ein Regiedebütant zeigt, wozu ein gestandener Schauspieler in der Lage ist. Im Theater würde man Bravo rufen.
